Components

The components of pubStudio include:

psAuthor

psAuthor is a Microsoft Word template containing styles and VBA macros that make it easy to create content that can then be quickly converted with the psPublish program. This template is the easiest and most powerful tool to use when creating content to be viewed in one of our custom viewers, psView or psWeb. However, you can use other Word templates.

psPublish

psPublish is the program that is used to identify all the elements used to create a title. These include Word documents, graphics, variables, settings, and options.

psPublish converts the files to a structured XML format needed by our custom viewers, psView and psWeb, and also creates the setup files needed to install the viewers and all the components that make up one Title or a Set of Titles.

Sample Conversion Offer

If you have content in Word documents, and it uses styles well (see Tips for info about this), and would like to see what it looks like in psWeb, send us a couple of chapters and we will do a free sample conversion. Send email to SteveL at op2s.com first and we will work out the details.

psView

psView, written in .NET and distributed on CD-ROM or DVD, is the viewer that is used to navigate, read, and manipulate (to a certain extent) a Title or Set of Titles. As you peruse the content—which can be composed of text, graphics, video, and other media—you can add bookmarks and notes, which can be exported and shared with others. psView is customizable to meet your content and branding needs.

psWeb

psWeb displays the same content as psView, with an almost identical look and feel, but it does so in Internet Explorer, rather than in a custom viewer. A Title must be converted to psView format before it can be converted to psWeb format. psWeb is also customizable, but not to the same extent as psView.
